History of subculture of punks

Punk — so named on a street slang of prostitutes earlier. In America in the beginning of the XX-th century it carry already to prisoners — «шестеркам». Later the word has entered into the basic lexicon and today "dirt", "rotten stuff", "garbage" is used in value. The punk has appeared in the USA in 1964 where under the influence of Beatles and Rolling Stones there was a large quantity of local ensembles. Value of this event is difficult for overestimating — for the first time from the end of 50th years the American youth had "a" music.
