Music in the style of Meta

Metal as a genre emerged in the early 1970s, mainly in Britain and the United States. In our time it is distributed worldwide and has many ramifications.

Metal music has become a cultural phenomenon that has spread beyond music. Theme songs, philosophy, lifestyle, image musicians and their fans have become an important feature of modern culture.

Heavy music, on the one hand, it is a part of modern mass culture, on the other hand, is positioned as a counterweight to it. Many groups, especially representatives of the traditional types of metal, had great success in the mass audience. They became the winners of the music awards, such as "Grammy", and gave concerts in front of an audience of thousands. Their songs have participated with success in many of the charts and their videos demonstrating channel MTV.

Like most rock music, metal, ideologically opposes the pop-culture. Many fans of the metal groups condemn the commercialization and frowned upon looking at their involvement in show business.

The peak of his popularity reached the metal in the 1980s. At various times he gave way to the popularity of punk rock, new wave, grunge and alternative rock, but unlike them are not experienced jumps and falls, while maintaining a sufficiently large army of fans.

Most metal-written texts in English. Even those groups for which this language is not native (German and Scandinavian), resorted to him to have students understand their songs. Nevertheless, the songs in their native languages of different countries are not so rare. The majority of Russian, Polish, and Japanese bands sing in their native languages, focusing on the domestic audience.

Metal bands of different genres often appeal to science fiction, mythology, literary horror. However, much of the lyrics of metal bands is drawn to the more traditional rock music matter: love life, freedom, war. Despite the outward aggressiveness, lyrics metal bands is probably an element of style and image, not a call to violence. The musicians and their fans usually refer to the texts with due irony.
